The “when” is just as important as the “what”; Announcing Davies + Co.

I am excited to announce the launch of d(K) Capital’s new website: www.dk.capital.

Greetings All

I am excited to announce the launch of Davies + Co.'s new website: www.davies.coach. I am so very grateful to all of you who have supported me over the last two years in what started as a side hustle with a handful of clients. Today, Davies + Co. serves a full roster of clients made up of Executives, Founders, and Investors doing great work across Finance, Technology, Real Estate, Entertainment, Medicine, Education, Hospitality, and the Arts.

Today is happening because the last 27 years have been filled with teammates, clients, mentors, and competitors that kept pushing me to keep learning as I kept succeeding. Those people (hopefully some of you are reading this) are the foundation of what I deliver to clients today; the ability to consistently align one’s professional accomplishments with what is personally meaningful. One thing that I have learned along the way is that in business (as in life), the “when” is just as important as the “what”. I know that my “when” is now.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Darren

Creating what’s next starts with what you already know

Often when we humans get stuck, we think the answer is somewhere outside of us.

Often when we humans get stuck, we think the answer is somewhere outside of us. Most often, the opposite is true.  Most challenges including those that can totally upend us in our profession are rooted in something that we have become blind to, but already know how to address and change. A client and I were recently working on their 2021 plan and they shared that they had lost the raw inspiration that had fueled their success at work. When we started to dig back into the earlier part of their career, the time when they were building the foundation of what they are now enjoying, we realized that the everyday tasks of talking with colleagues and developing new client relationships were largely absent.  The day had become about managing and protecting what they built, rather than the activities associated with real growth (which is the part of the business that this client (and most entrepreneurs enjoy the most). If you look at what helped you build your success and brought you happiness, does that still serve you today? As you look toward 2021 and what you are out to accomplish, is your day aligned with what you say you want?

Dk Capital works with people to have them listen to what they already know, build on what they love to do, and create what is next in their professions.  Reach out and have a chat at (203) 451-6319 or darren@davies.coach.

Finding Life’s work

How Erno Rubik continues to reinvent inventing; a simple guidepost to how we can all forward what we think matters in business and in life.

The Rubik’s Cube became one of the most popular toys in history. Today, Erno Rubik continues to “reinvent” inventing. He shares his view on forward-thinking; “real learning is not the accumulation of knowledge, but rather building a capability to find new possibilities in novel circumstances.” As the circumstances are beyond “novel” and finding a way forward has never been more important, how can we all expand our capacity in the name of higher impact results? Erno shares some great insights.

Most highly successful people see that contributing to the greater good is fundamental in their profession.

Bringing forth a voice and a vision for how things can improve gives others the opportunity to increase their own level of engagement.
